We are beyond honored to have The Honorable Justice James Beene on our podcast! Justice Beene, aka Jim, has served on the Supreme Court in Arizona for the last year and some change, and had served in Family and Juvenile court for over 4 years, here in Arizona.
We have always wanted to interview a judge for our podcast, so we are especially excited to have Jim on this episode with us. Thanks SO MUCH to Kim Vehon of Foster Arizona for the introduction!!
There is just SO much great stuff in this podcast, and we hope you enjoy this fantastic interview! Justice Beene is a very wise, and kind Justice who truly cares for the futures of the young people in foster care, as well as their bio families, and the families who choose to foster.
In this episode
You will learn about a judge’s role in the whole foster care machine, and you will hear really encouraging words coming from someone who has been in the middle of this system for many years.
And for the random portion of our episode – Justice Beene is training to be a sommelier (a trained wine professional), and if you want to do that too, you can check it out here. And he mentioned that he is reading a book about Beethoven, who would have turned 250! But Beethoven is another great example of persistence, and being dealt a rough hand, but achieving greatness all the while. Jim also mentioned that he is reading this book about the spirituality of wine!

The Good Word of the Day
“Persistence”.– Mama Beene, mother of Justice James Beene
That’s a great word that Justice Beene’s mother often reminded him of. And it’s a great word for all of us to lean into in times of trouble and hardship. There is always great reward on the other side of hard work and persistence!
If you have any questions for Justice Beene, we can pass them along to him. You can email us at email@example.com . We would love to connect with you there, or on social media!
